In 2013, ExactAir partnered with Anadarko Petroleum Corporation and Failure Prevention Systems (FPS) to develop and a system which cleans the crankcase vapours using a reusable filter and is fully automated  to maintain a steady crankcase vacuum. The installation of the prototype system was such a success that systems are now being installed in Wyoming, North Dakota, Colorado and Canada; even before the final results of the year long study were released. Our study found that crankcase vapour contains a significant amount of methane which can be cleaned and burned in the engine. We also found that maintaining a crankcase pressure improves the fuel and emissions performance of the engine.
